Job summary

Florida State University seeks a Senior Security Guard to protect the Strozier and Dirac Libraries in Tallahassee. This full-time role will staff library security desks, patrol facilities, assist patrons, and coordinate with FSUPD to maintain a safe environment.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant experience, plus the ability to meet physical demands up to 30 lbs and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Staffs library security desks at Strozier and Dirac Libraries and conducts routine patrols of library spaces, grounds, and parking lots.
• Enforces security procedures and communicates updates/reports to Head of Security.
• Assists patrons with questions about library services and directs them to appropriate help desks.
• Greets official guests and potential employees, guiding them as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief or designee.
