Job summary

St. Davids South Austin Medical Center is seeking a BMT Coordinator RN to assess needs, coordinate care, and educate patients undergoing blood or marrow transplant. This role includes donor coordination and collaboration with the transplant team to maintain the plan of care.

You will document in the patient records, liaise with providers, and ensure compliance with policies while supporting families and payers throughout the transplant process.

Qualifications

• RN requirements: current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• BMT-CN or ONC certification within 2 years of employment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients undergoing blood or marrow transplant and coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families about the transplant process.
• Collaborate with transplant team to ensure plan of care is followed.
• Enter patient information into the system from referral through infusion in a timely manner.
• Coordinate donor workup and matching with the physician.
• Ensure insurance authorization for transplant and cellular therapies.
