Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience related to student success and support.
• Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising for majors and minors within the College of Sciences, including departments of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Physics & Astronomy, Mathematical Sciences, Geoscience, and Life Sciences.
• Conduct advising appointments with current majors, prospective students, and special populations via in-person, virtual, email, and group settings.
• Help students identify strengths, interests, and abilities and relate these to majors and careers.
• Use interpersonal and communication skills to engage and build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with advising colleagues to support RPC initiatives for retention, completion, and progression.
• Stay updated on college information and post-graduation goals to provide relevant guidance to advisees.
• Represent the College at advising, university events, and participate in professional development.
