University of Nevada, Las Vegas is hiring two full-time Academic Advisors for the College of Sciences Advising Center. The role focuses on holistic student care, advising over 2,500 undergraduates, and supporting progression from matriculation to beyond graduation.

Responsibilities include advising across departments, conducting appointments through multiple channels, and collaborating with staff to advance RPC initiatives. Commitment to campus values and professional development is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of related experience.
• Experience advising students and supporting their academic success.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising for majors/minors in the College of Sciences (Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Mathematical Sciences, Geoscience, Life Sciences).
• Conduct advising appointments via in-person, virtual, email, and group settings.
• Help students identify strengths, interests, and career paths that align with majors.
• Engage with diverse student populations and build rapport across backgrounds.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support RPC initiatives and retention efforts.
• Represent the College at events and participate in professional development opportunities.
