Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Academic Advisor 2 on the Main Campus. You will report to the Director, Academic Success, and support advising, retention initiatives, and recruitment activities across the CABNR and broader College programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with related experience in academic advising, student services, or teaching. Occasional travel and a commitment to student success are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with related work experience in advising, teaching or student services.
• Experience with retention/enrollment data and academic advising in higher education is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for individual and group advising.

Responsibilities

• Advise incoming freshmen, new students, continuing students and transfers on course selection and major goals.
• Provide data related to retention and enrollment management for reports and presentations.
• Maintain accurate student records and document interactions in the student system.
• Participate in orientation sessions and develop advising materials.
