Job summary

RH Sheppard Co Inc is seeking a General Assembler to join the steering gear assembly line in the United States. You will receive components, use gauges, verify dimensions, apply torque, and load finished gears for packaging while working alongside coworkers and machinery.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and work orders, setting up tools, performing SPC data collection, maintaining safety and quality, and lifting parts up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of shop math and blueprint reading preferred.
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in production/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on 5S and JIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components into steering gear using gauges and torque.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, interpret blueprints and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with TS and ISO manufacturing practices.
  • Set up, clean, and inspect tools; load/machine as required.
  • Operate and adjust equipment to maintain quality and production.
  • Perform first piece inspections and SPC data collection.
  • Maintain safety and environmental standards (ISO14001) and quality policies (IATF 16949).
  • Record production counts and manage part packaging and shipping routines.
  • Lift and move parts weighing up to 40 lbs; work in a team environment.
