Job summary

NORD Gear Corporation in Waunakee, WI is seeking a Gearbox Assembler to assemble gear reducers, gear motors, and other drive components according to work orders, and to test and troubleshoot as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading/writing/math skills, and some mechanical assembly experience. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods while supporting 5S and Kanban programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous assembly or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, detail-oriented, with basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble gearboxes per work order instructions.
  • Check work orders for accuracy.
  • Visually inspect parts for quality.
  • Rework and correct any noise or leakage problems.
  • Maintain the 5S program and Kanban system.
  • Be an active participant in the company's suggestion, quality, efficiency, and cost savings programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
