Job summary

Olympic Steel in Arkansas is seeking a Polisher to operate drum-sanding, lathe-turn polishing and power hand tools in a stainless fabrication environment. You’ll support general shop tasks, maintain cleanliness, and help stage finished products.

Qualifications

• Previous stainless fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read simple fabrication drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate polishing machinery such as drum-sanding and lathe-turn polisher in a stainless fabrication setting.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and perform routine preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Staging finished products by packaging, palletizing, banding/strapping and wrapping.
• Support general shop tasks as needed to keep production running smoothly.

The Polisher operates machinery typical to the stainless polishing industry including, but not limited to drum-sanding, lathe-turn polishing, and power hand tool operation. Other tasks performed include general shop tasks such as maintaining shop cleanliness, general preventative maintenance and upkeep of machinery, and staging finished products by packaging, palletizing, banding/strapping, and wrapping.

Qualifications:

• Proven warehouse experience, metals manufacturing preferred
• Previous stainless fabrication and ability to read simple fabrication drawings a plus
• Mechanically inclined
• Basic math skills
• Working knowledge of general computer programs
