Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. in Oregon seeks a Heat Treat Material Handler to safely process steel plate in a heavy industrial environment. This role requires following safety rules, performing physical tasks on 12‑hour rotating shifts, and accurately entering data into systems.

Qualifications

• Accurate data entry skills without transposing figures.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and technical manuals.
• Ability to plan work in a fast-paced setting.
• Independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Use remotely controlled overhead cranes to stack and unstack steel plate.
• Load and unload steel plate on conveyor systems.
• Load and unload steel plate onto trucks and rail cars.
• Use burning equipment and hand grinders to cut and prepare plate samples for testing.
• Tag and mark steel plate.
• Enter data into computer systems.
• Operate forklift.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the front-line supervisor.
