Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. is seeking a Safety Supervisor for our Pueblo, Colorado steel manufacturing facility.

You will implement, monitor and continually improve safety programs to ensure compliance with all regulations and promote a culture of safety across the mill. You will lead safety training, audits, incident investigations, and collaborate with operations to mitigate risks, while supporting union environments and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in occupational safety or related field with 5 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with 3 years in industry safety.
• In lieu of degree, 7 years of occupational safety in heavy industrial setting.
• Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
• Experience supervising in a union environment preferred.
• Professional safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, ASP, CSP, CHST) a plus.
• Experience with ISO 45001, lean manufacturing or behavior-based safety programs.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Understanding of steelmaking production and operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce safety policies and programs across the mill.
• Develop and present monthly OSHA safety training and aid in new hire training.
• Track and communicate mill safety statistics.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Participate in incident investigations and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Co-chair Safety Sub-committee and collaborate with operations to address hazards.
• Provide safety guidance to front line supervisors and management.
