Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. in Pueblo, Colorado, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Seamless Mill to lead dynamic teams and drive efficiency. You will collaborate with QA and safety to meet targets, applying LEAN tools and coordinating shift manpower.

Requirements include a BS degree or equivalent, 3 years industrial supervisory experience, and proficiency with MS Office and Oracle. Role entails rotating days/nights, holidays, and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of industrial supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
• Experience using Oracle.
• Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity.
• Comfortable with rotating day/night schedule including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues
• Coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
• Use LEAN manufacturing tools to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
• Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
• Onboard new bargaining employees, ensure that adequate training is taking place and complete timely 720 probation performance evaluations
• Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
• Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
• Maintain coaching documents (Note to Self) for all conversations surrounding attendance, behavior, safety, and performance
• Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee timecards daily
