Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. in Pueblo, Colorado, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Seamless Mill to lead dynamic teams and drive safety, quality, and productivity on the production line.

You will collaborate with quality assurance and safety across cross-functional departments, schedule shifts, onboard new bargaining employees, and manage operational and maintenance activities to achieve targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of industrial supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel.
• Previous experience using Oracle.
• Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
• Use LEAN manufacturing tools to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
• Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
• Onboard new bargaining employees, ensure that adequate training is taking place and complete timely 720 probation performance evaluations
• Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
• Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
• Maintain coaching documents (Note to Self) for all conversations surrounding attendance, behavior, safety, and performance
• Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee timecards daily
