Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to move steel throughout our service center under supervision of the Operations Supervisor.

This full-time role requires operating forklifts and overhead cranes, receiving materials into the computer system, and storing products safely and efficiently in designated areas. You will work in a safety‑focused environment with PPE, follow procedures, and collaborate with team members to meet daily production and shipping needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to plan and prioritize workload in a fast-paced service center.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling material.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily goals.

Responsibilities

• Embrace the 1 T.E.A.M. culture and follow safety policies.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead cranes to move material within the service center.
• Receive material into the computer system and stage for storage or shipment.
• Stock and rotate materials; verify counts and accuracy of shipments/receipts.
• Report equipment failures and assist with general duties as assigned.
