Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably steel.
• Ability to pass internal crane operator certification.
• Ability to read and understand requisitions or design paperwork and read a measuring tape.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to move materials and finished products.
• Unload raw materials such as steel bundles and coils from delivery trucks or storage and prepare them for use in manufacturing.
• Move finished goods, including steel joists, grinders, and other structural pieces, from the production area to staging or shipping areas.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring the correct materials are available for production.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance; overtime and weekends may be required.
