Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a motivated Material Handler for the 2nd shift at our California site. You will ensure safety, meet daily productivity and quality goals, and assist with both routine and non-routine maintenance.

This role is on-site and involves lifting, operating forklifts and cranes, and working in all weather conditions. We offer tuition reimbursement and comprehensive training and development opportunities, along with medical/dental/vision, FSA/HSA, commuter

Qualifications

• Able to read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine material/equipment needs.
• Able to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels set by the company.
• Ability to plan and organize work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Maintain inter-department communications related to routing, safety and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods and report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Move steel to/from storage, production areas, loading docks and vehicles using manual handling, forklift or crane.
• Lift up to 50 pounds for 25 feet and exert force as required.
• Apply proper bundling techniques and configure loads for routes.
• Maximize trailer load capacity without compromising safety.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment listed as needed.
• Identify safety issues and report promptly.
• Work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Maintain spatial awareness in a dynamic work environment.
• Attend required company meetings.
