Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a Fabricator to join our shipyard and customer facilities team. The position focuses on fabrication, assembly, and erection of steel structures, requiring blueprint reading and experience with 1689/1688 technical standards.

You will weld with SMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, FCAW and DE Arc, lay out parts, mark reference lines, and prepare assemblies for shipment. OT may be required and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints and fabricate metal structures per plans.
• Experience welding steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate shop safely.
• Pass precert welding test.
• Apprenticeship or welding certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work is safe and meets quality standards.
• Lay out, fabricate and brace metal structural parts.
• Read blueprints and templates, use hand tools.
• Locate and mark reference lines.
• Weld using SMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, FCAW, and DE Arc.
• Align parts, drill holes, install temporary fasteners.
• Roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape plates/beams.
• Inspect conformance to blueprints and prepare for shipment.
• Report unsafe conditions; lift materials up to 60 pounds.
