Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites within shipbuilding environments.

Responsibilities

Seeking a skilled and dedicated 1st Class Shipfitter to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal structures and components on ships and marine vessels. Your expertise will ensure that all ship fitting tasks meet rigorous safety standards and adhere to industry specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, utilizing your ship fitting knowledge and fabrication skills to contribute to the maintenance of high-quality maritime vessels. Responsibilities

• Measure materials precisely using Tape measure.
• Perform Tack welding operations including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
• Fabricate metal parts, removal and installation of inserts using Templates.
• Use basic ship fitting tools, Grinder, Plasma cutter, Cutting torch.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously while working on job sites or fabrication shop to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist with the removal and installation of mechanical systems, piping, ductwork, and other ships components.
• Perform metal fabrication shop tasks, and support other trades as needed for project completion.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, quality checks, and compliance with industry standards.

Skills

• Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of shipbuilding environments.
• Able to read basic structural drawings.
• Tack welding, techniques including FCAW, SMAW,
