Job summary

Stony Brook Structures of Florida is seeking a full-time shop technician for our Leesburg, FL location. The role involves reading shop drawings, laying out and assembling material per specs, and performing basic inspections.

You will maintain equipment across the machine shop and work both independently and as part of a team. Forklift operation and standing all day are required, with a minimum 40 lb lift capacity.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read shop drawings and layout/assemble material as per drawing specifications.
• Ability to read shop drawings and layout/assemble material as per drawing specifications.
• Basic inspection of material and parts for flaws and defects.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to use steel shop tools and machinery including but not limited to tape measures, levels, electric drills, torque wrenches, etc.
• Read shop drawings and lay out/assemble material per drawings.
• Perform basic inspection of material and parts for flaws and defects.
• Maintain equipment located throughout the machine shop.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Operate forklift safely.
• Stand on feet all day.
