Job summary

Bay Shore Steel Works (BSSW) seeks a manufacturing assistant to support production in a fast-paced facility. You will move materials, organize work areas, and assist with sandblast or grinding as required.

Applicants should read blueprints, have attention to detail, and basic math skills. A forklift license and overhead crane permits are provided by the company. High school diploma or equivalent required. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift license and overhead crane permits (company trained).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Minimum one year production experience in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Moving of materials and product from one department to the next according to workflow requirements utilizing forklift.
• Organizing work areas, including stock outside as required
• Utilize sandblast or hand grind equipment to assist with production requirements
• Follow safety procedures as defined for work performed
• Monitor tools and equipment utilized for safety and required maintenance
