Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. is seeking an Operating Mechanic A L1-2 for Steam Operations at the 60th St location. The role involves operating boilers, monitoring systems, and maintaining steam production and electrical output.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of relevant Power Plant, Merchant Marine or US Navy experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred. Knowledge of boiler water chemistry and steam cycles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers, fans, pumps and all auxiliary equipment in a steam generating station.
• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks and heavy manual labor.
• Flex across station posts, including Rover and Control Room assignments, and perform HV electrical switching.
• Work with steam production equipment, boiler feed pumps, and water treatment and fuel delivery systems.
