Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York seeks a Mechanic B Welder to join its power plant maintenance team. The role involves welding, mechanical work on live steam, gas and electric facilities, and maintaining piping systems, valves, tanks, and rotating equipment.

High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years related work experience and 2 years welding experience.
API1104 welding qualification is required.
New York State and New York City Asbestos Handler's License after hire or willingness to obtain.
Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Pursue a career path toward the senior title in the Mechanic ladder.
Willing to further welding skills as required by the department.
Interpret welding specifications, standards and procedures; complete assignments independently; perform welding tasks.
Maintain, repair and install power piping systems, valves, tanks and vessels; work on rotating equipment such as fans, blowers, pumps, motors.
Work with field power tools and precision measuring equipment.
