Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. is looking for a General Utility Worker L1-2 at the 59th Street Generating Station to support steam operations maintenance.

The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of boilers, turbines, motors, pumps, and related systems, with responsibilities in reading schematics and ensuring safe operations. The candidate will perform inspections, use hand and power tools, and participate in emergency response and shift rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain TWIC and NY asbestos licenses within set timeframes.
• Experience in general construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical or electrical work is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; operate hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on steam boilers, turbines, generators, water treatment systems and facility support systems.
• Inspect and repair piping, valves, tanks and related mechanical components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures and restore service.
• Maintain maintenance records and operate company vehicles as needed.
