stayAPT Suites Houston-NASA Clear Lake in Webster, TX is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead hotel operations and guest service every day. You will partner with the General Manager to supervise departments, mentor staff, and drive profitability while controlling costs.

The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, and clear communication with guests and team members. This is an overtime-eligible manager position with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive hotel experience (Rooms or F&B) or a four-year degree with 2–3 years, or a two-year degree with 3–4 years of related experience.
• Supervisory background required.
• Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure.
• Must hold or obtain certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple departments and drive hotel profitability by skillfully managing teams and partnering with the General Manager to keep everything running smoothly.
• Spot challenges proactively to ensure daily hotel operations flow efficiently.
• Recruit, hire, and train Guest Services staff, and coach all team members from managers to hourly employees.
• Listen actively, understand concerns, and keep lines of communication clear with colleagues and guests.
• Confidently work with financial data and reporting to support hotel operations.
• Use Windows OS for management tasks and reporting.
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards across the team.
• Foster a friendly, service-focused attitude in every guest interaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
