Qualifications

  • Familiarity with basketball software and electronic scoring systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Sioux Falls Skyforce Game Operations team is hiring a Stats Crew member! This role would be responsible for working with the team and officials to operate the clocks (Daktronics and Precision Time Systems) and stats-keeping software (SMT) at the scorer's table. The position may also involve arena setup, preparation of the stats system prior to games, and teardown of the system post-game. We are seeking individuals with a passion for sports and a mind for details, numbers & order.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

  • Record and track live game statistics accurately during all home games and events held at the arena
  • Operate statistical tracking equipment and software to capture real-time player and team performance data
  • Collaborate with official scorers, timekeepers, and other stats crew personnel to ensure consistency and accuracy of all recorded data
  • Review and verify statistical entries during and after each game to identify and correct any discrepancies
  • Communicate statistical updates and corrections promptly to broadcast, media, and league personnel as required
  • Prepare and distribute post-game statistical reports and summaries in accordance with league standards and deadlines
  • Attend all mandatory pre-season training sessions and crew meetings to maintain proficiency in scoring rules and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current league rules, scoring guidelines, and statistical definitions to ensure compliance with official standards

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of professional basketball rules, scoring procedures, and official statistical categories as defined by the NBA. Proficiency in real-time sports data entry and statistical tracking during live events. Familiarity with basketball statistical software and electronic scoring systems used in professional arena environments. Knowledge of sports media protocols and coordination with league officials, broadcast partners, and arena operations staff.
