Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Stationary Engineer for our Buffalo cereal plant. The role supports operation and maintenance of power plant equipment on a rotating 8-hour shift schedule (6 am–2 pm; 2 pm–10 pm; 10 pm–6 am).

Starting compensation includes base pay plus shift premiums, with long-term growth through apprenticeship programs. Applicants should have a First-Class Stationary Engineer License from Buffalo, 3 years of mid-size power plant operation, and 4 years of maintenance experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• First-Class Stationary Engineer License from the City of Buffalo.
• 3 years minimum experience operating a mid-size power plant.
• 4 years minimum maintenance experience with pipe fitting, electrical troubleshooting and blueprint reading.
• Working knowledge of PLC's, HVAC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair power plant equipment (boilers, compressor, cogeneration, HVAC).
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and controls/equipment modifications.
• Perform both uptime and downtime preventative maintenance per master PM schedule.
• Complete corrective maintenance orders and CI initiatives.
• Attend meetings and trainings; assist other plant areas as needed.
