Job summary

General Mills in Cincinnati is seeking a Millwright Mechanic to maintain and repair processing and packaging equipment on 2nd and/or 3rd shifts in a 24/7 plant operation, with 8-hour shifts, 7 days a week.

You will troubleshoot equipment, identify mechanical defects, perform preventive maintenance, participate in root-cause analysis, and support continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability while adhering to food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of manufacturing/production experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions.
  • Forklift certification course completion and ability to drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely while resolving equipment issues.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing processing and packaging equipment.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical defects and develop fixes.
  • Provide technical support for equipment troubleshooting and modifications.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence of failures.
  • Perform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in training new employees.
