Job summary

General Mills Buffalo Plant is seeking a Controls Electrician Tech for our flour mill. Starting pay ranges from $37.87 to $43.75 per hour, with additional shift differentials of $0.34/hour (2nd shift) and $0.41/hour (3rd shift).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience with repair and troubleshooting.
• Must be recognized as a Controls Technician by General Mills Buffalo Standards.
• Electrical knowledge with 480V wiring and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with AB PLC platforms, servo control systems, and robotic controls.
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Support, integrate, troubleshoot and improve processing/packaging controls systems including Wonderware and PLC.
• Read and update electrical and control schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Provide technical support and skills for troubleshooting equipment and control modifications.
• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and electrical components.
• Perform preventive electrical maintenance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist other plant areas as assigned.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 8-hour shift - shift schedule rotation every 5th week
• 1st shift: 7 am to 3 pm
• 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
• Every 5th week shift rotation from 1st shift to 1 week on 2nd shift (may be longer, if needed)
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
• Plantoperates24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of our manufacturing team, you will:

• Supporting, creating, integration, troubleshooting and improving a variety of processing/packaging controls systems including Wonderware, and PLC.
• Reading and updating electrical and control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Providing technical support/skills for troubleshooting equipment and controls/equipment modifications
• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components
• Performing both uptime and downtime preventative electrical maintenance
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
• Assistother plant areas as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years (minimum) of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including machine repair and troubleshooting
• Must be recognized as a Controls Technician by General Mills Buffalo Standards
• Electronic knowledge with 480v industrial wiring and troubleshooting experience
• PLC programming, troubleshooting and instrumentation
• Experience with AB PLC platforms; Servo Control Systems; Robotic Controls Systems
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts
• Mustpossessthe ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplaceregardingwork matters (our business isgenerally conductedin English)
• Ability tolift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights whileutilizingstairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards
• Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net,gloves,and face masks (whenrequired)
• Ability to work around high-speed machinery and foodallergens

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Manufacturing or production experience
• HMI experience, Wonderware or Rockwell Panelview preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
