Job summary

General Mills in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Controls Electrician Tech for the flour mill. The role focuses on supporting, designing, and improving packaging and processing controls systems, including Wonderware and PLCs, while maintaining electrical safety and equipment reliability.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in industrial electrical maintenance, strong knowledge of 480V systems, and the ability to read schematics. Shift work and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience including machine repair and troubleshooting.
• Experience with 480V industrial wiring and electrical safety practices.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Support, create, integrate, troubleshoot and improve processing/packaging controls systems including Wonderware and PLC.
• Read and update electrical and control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and control modifications.
• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.
• Perform uptime and downtime preventative electrical maintenance.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
