Job summary

American Electric Power Co. in Abingdon, VA seeks a Station Crew Supervisor to lead the Station Electrician and/or Station Servicer teams in construction, maintenance and operation, including responding to station trouble calls and restoration efforts.

You will plan daily work, ensure safe use of tools, coordinate with other crews, and maintain records while upholding Company safety rules and the Transmission culture and leadership framework. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

Requires an associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance tech.
6+ years of station experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
Valid state driver’s license and vehicle operation compliance.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct activity of assigned crew in construction, maintenance and operation.
Ensure safe use of tools and training of personnel.
Plan short-range work and organize daily activities; coordinate with other crews.
Respond to emergency situations and outages.
Procure materials, tools and equipment as required.
Maintain records and reports; supervise employees.
Attend supervisory meetings and coordinate with departments.
