Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Administration seeks a Program Coordinator III, Youth Programming Coordinator, to plan and manage statewide youth programs including the State Government Internship Program and Lady Cardinal Mentorship Program. The role supports host agencies, recruits participants, and oversees budgets and employment processes in collaboration with Human Resources and Fiscal.

Travel statewide, periodical evening/weekend work, and supervision of summer interns are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of youth development, experiential learning, and program planning and evaluation.
• Ability to independently manage statewide programs, application processes, and deadlines.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with partner-building ability.
• Ability to supervise interns, maintain records, and protect sensitive information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the State Government Internship Program and related youth programs from recruitment to closeout.
• Coordinate State Youth Council programming, youth conferences, and mini-grant activities.
• Build partnerships with government agencies and educational institutions; prepare materials for councils.
• Coordinate hiring, payroll questions, and budget tracking with multiple departments.
• Supervise summer interns, maintain calendars, evaluate outcomes, and report to leadership.
• Perform other duties to support youth programs and Division initiatives.
