Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a skilled plumber to install and repair plumbing and LP gas systems to support a major institution. The role includes supervising inmates and providing on-the-job training in plumbing.

You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, test systems, and maintain records according to department guidelines. A valid driver's license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of plumbing experience OR four or more years in plumbing.
• College or vocational/technical training can substitute for required experience.
• Valid Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures, LP gas supply, waste collection, and potable water.
• Read blueprints, plan work, and supervise inmates in plumbing trades.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on boilers and related equipment.
• Test systems, maintain logs, and keep records per Department guidelines.
• Prepare reports and participate in departmental training.
