Job summary

State of Colorado seeks an Executive Director for the Department of Higher Education and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. You will lead the department’s strategic planning, budgeting, and collaboration with partners to advance Colorado’s education and workforce goals.

The role requires strong leadership, policy development experience, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders to implement the master plan and drive durable outcomes for learners across the state.

Qualifications

• Executive-level leadership experience.
• Budgeting and financial management responsibilities at large organizations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with diverse groups.
• Strategic planning and execution of department-wide initiatives.
• Experience with policy development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership to the senior management team on strategic matters for state-level activities.
• Build relationships with higher education stakeholders including policymakers, college administrators, K-12 educators, and employers.
• Communicate with CCHE and support board agendas.
