Job summary

State of Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity is seeking an Engagement Specialist responsible for statewide stakeholder engagement for the Community and Worker Economic Transition Office. You will lead community engagement events, liaise between Office staff and external partners, and track recommendations from Michigan’s Statewide Economic Transition Strategy.

You will work with cross-functional teams and advise the Office Director on outreach and strategy, providing status

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any major OR one year of professional experience in the Michigan classified service AND four years of professional experience, including two years at P11/12 level.
Equivalent of six months of full-time experience as Senior Executive Management Assistant 15 in the state classified service.

Responsibilities

Lead statewide stakeholder engagement initiatives and conduct regular community engagement events.
Serve as liaison between Office staff and external partner organizations and other LEO units or SOM agencies.
Track and implement recommendations from Michigan's Statewide Economic Transition Strategy with the Office Director and staff.
Advise the Office Director on outreach, engagement, and economic transition strategy.
Provide status updates to Advisory Committee and build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute the Office mission.
