Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Justice seeks a Criminal Justice Training Coordinator II (NS) to lead the In-service and Online Training teams, overseeing curricula development and delivery for law enforcement, detention, and telecommunications personnel across North Carolina.

You will supervise 12 staff, ensure compliance with commission standards, and coordinate with agencies to assess training needs and schedule new courses, while supporting strategic priorities and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with commissions, committees, or advisory groups.
• Certified Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Instructor.
• Master’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field and four years of progressive experience, including supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead the In-service and Online Training development team.
• Oversee 290,000 online training completions across Law Enforcement, Detention, and Telecommunications personnel in NC.
• Supervise twelve team members and manage performance through work plans and evaluations.
• Develop, deliver, and continuously improve training curricula and courses to meet standards.
• Coordinate with client agencies and manage scheduling, course evaluations, and curriculum updates.
