Job summary

State of Missouri's Office of Administration FMDC is seeking a Specialized Trades Worker for the Construction Project Unit who will travel statewide to support multiple projects from the Simpson Building Jefferson City. You will apply your trade knowledge to electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, concrete, welding, and related trades.

Reading blueprints, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring safety compliance per OSHA are core duties.

Qualifications

5-6 years of on-the-job training in a trade area.
5 years of skilled experience in the construction trades area preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and plan specifications.
Valid Missouri driver’s license.
Able to travel statewide.
Background checks will be required.
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
Strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

Prioritize excellent service for a wide and diverse network of stakeholders, including internal teams, state agencies, officials, contractors, and the public.
Apply trade-specific knowledge to troubleshooting, repair and construction projects statewide.
Perform trades work including electrical, HVAC, electronics, carpentry, concrete and masonry, welding, plumbing, painting, and general contracting.
Perform general labor including heavy lifting, debris removal, materials transportation and storage.
Read blueprints and plan specifications to layout walls, systems furniture, plumbing, data, and electrical systems.
Disassemble, transport, and reassemble furniture and office space structures.
Follow OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
Other projects and special duties as assigned.
