Job Location: This position will be located at the Simpson Building, 709 Missouri Blvd Jefferson City, MO 65108 but will travel to multiple projects across the state. This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Construction Project Unit, within the Design and Construction Team. OA-FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent service.

• Prioritize excellent service for wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
• Apply trade-specific knowledge to troubleshooting, repair and construction projects statewide.
• Perform trades work relating but not limited to electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); electronics; carpentry; concrete and masonry; welding; plumbing; painting and/or general contracting.
• Perform general labor including but not limited to heavy lifting, debris removal, materials transportation and storage, and operating machinery and heavy equipment per project needs.
• Read blueprints and plan specifications to layout walls, systems furniture, plumbing, data, and electrical systems per project needs.
• Disassemble, transport, and reassemble furniture, cubicles, modular walls, and other office space structures.
• Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
• Other projects and special duties as assigned.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
• Ability to manage numerous time-sensitive projects independently or as part of a team using procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to a specialized trade.
• Ability to interpret and apply plans, construction specifications, blueprints, building codes, environmental regulations, and safety codes.
• 5-6 years of on-the-job training in a trade area.
• 5 years of skilled experience in the construction trades area preferred.
• Skill in identifying technical and procedural problems and providing resolutions.
• Experience operating and maintaining various equipment and tools.
• Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of all trade areas. (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, but OA-FMDC can provide training once hired if needed.)
• Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
