Job Description

Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, is building a new rehabilitation hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown. Expected to open in 2024, this 60-bed, 66,000-square-foot, two-story, inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital operates jointly with Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Mercy Health. Responsibilities

1. Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
2. Provide morning care including bed bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, hair care, back care, changing linens, cleaning over bed table and bedside stand, and general care throughout the day.
3. Provide evening care including hand/face washing, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, linen changes, cleaning over bed tables, and general care as needed.
4. Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays; assist with meals or feed patients if necessary.
5. Answer patient call lights, anticipate needs, and make rounds to assigned patients.
6. Assist patients with handling personal property such as dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.
7. Report and record any changes observed in patient condition or behavior, and document unusual incidents.
8. Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of a course for nursing assistants.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS Certification.
• Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term care facility preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
