New River Trail State Park is accepting applications for the Maintenance Ranger Lead position at the Foster Falls location.
This skilled position supports the operation of the park through a range of duties including, but not limited to, performing and leading groundskeeper work which can include, but not be limited to mowing, weed eating, leaf removal, landscape work, trash pickup around the grounds and roadside, etc. This level of employee has proven knowledge and will assist with minor equipment maintenance and equipment upkeep. The position is also responsible for the occasional cleaning of buildings and restrooms within State Park facilities. This position will assist more skilled trades technicians with repairs as needed, which may include, but are not limited to, carpentry and plumbing issues. They may also be tasked with performing minor repairs by themselves without direct supervision. Other duties outside the scope of this description may be assigned to be completed by a Trades Technician II employee if it helps complete the overall mission of Virginia State Parks. Questions should be referred to a higher level, and they work under immediate supervision with detailed verbal and written instructions.
