Job summary

The Environmental Protection Operations Supervisor role within the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection leads field staff supporting state park operations in western Connecticut.

This full-time, on-site leadership position coordinates complex tasks across the State Park Division and builds strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to maintain parks and facilities in the region.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in operation, development, and maintenance of natural resources programs and facilities.
• Strong knowledge of facility, park and recreation area operation and maintenance principles.
• Supervisory ability with experience assigning, overseeing, and reviewing staff work.
• Ability to initiate and oversee projects and coordinate utilization of equipment and personnel.
• Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations.
• Considerable interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field staff responsible for state park operations in western Connecticut.
• Coordinate complex assignments across the State Park Division.
• Manage relationships with internal departments and external partners.
• Oversee park and facility maintenance throughout the region.
