Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks an Environmental Protection Operations Supervisor to lead field operations in the State Park Division across the western half of the state. The role manages staff, coordinates with engineering, law enforcement, project managers, and environmental staff, and travels across CT to support facilities and recreation areas.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of experience in operation, development, and maintenance of natural resources programs and facilities.
• Substitutions allowed as described in the Minimum Qualifications section.
• Preferred qualifications emphasize staff development, MS Word/Excel/Outlook proficiency and policy implementation.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff.
• Provides staff training and assistance; conducts performance evaluations.
• Determines priorities and plans area work; establishes area procedures.
• Develops policies and standards; acts as liaison with other units and outside officials.
• Prepares reports on facilities use and condition; supervises projects on state facilities and grounds.
• Coordinates utilization of equipment and personnel; oversees special programs.
