Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Enterprise Solution Architect and Growth Lead for our State & Local Government practice. You will own product development, solution design and technical delivery for complex, multi-agency cloud migration, application modernization, AI/ML, and data & analytics engagements.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years in enterprise technology (architecture, engineering, or technical consulting).
3+ years contributing to or leading business development and capture activities in government professional services.
Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and shape solution offerings (AI/ML, data modernization, cloud).
Demonstrated experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP Moderate, HIPAA, CJIS, IRS Pub 1075).
State and local government experience — procurement cycles and compliance.
AI/ML practical experience (Bedrock, SageMaker, or equivalent).
Application modernization — cloud-native, containerization, microservices, API-first.
Data & analytics fluency — data lakes, analytics platforms, BI tooling.

Responsibilities

Identify and shape new business opportunities with state and local government stakeholders.
Drive strategic product and service development into new solution offerings and go-to-market strategies.
Lead solution architecture from discovery through implementation with regulatory compliance.
Serve as trusted technical advisor to senior government executives.
Contribute to RFP/RFQ responses with technical approaches and architectures.
Drive partner relationships in multi-agency, multi-vendor environments.
