Progressive regonal CPA firm seeks an Audit Manager with a State and Local Government specialization. Fast track to Director/Partnership, with reasonable work-life balance and a hybrid work environment. Relocation assistance available.

The Manager will lead multiple engagements, train staff, manage budgets, and cultivate client relationships. Requires CPA license, a strong GAAP/GASB background, and extensive public sector audit experience, including not-for-profit exposures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• At least five years of public accounting experience, specifically in the public sector including auditing state and local governments.
• CPA license required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and GASB standards.
• Experience with GAAS, GAGAS/Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance.
• Experience auditing not-for-profit organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of audits or reviews across multiple engagements.
• Maintain client relationships and understand client operations and controls.
• Keep engagement Director/Partner informed of developments and issues.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency and adherence to professional standards.
• Ensure engagements are properly scheduled and within budgets.
• Lead, train, and supervise staff and seniors; participate in staff evaluations.
• Support business development efforts.
