Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Director/Audit Manager to join the State and Local Government (SLG) practice in the Midwest. The role focuses on leading engagements, developing client relationships, and ensuring timely audits and financial planning for government entities.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 6+ years in public accounting, experience with governmental and single audits, and a CPA license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• Experience leading teams and managing governmental audits; Single audits preferred.
• CPA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with clients.
• Assist clients in obtaining necessary funding to support their communities.
• Assist clients with meeting audit and financial planning objectives using various tools.
• Be proactive with staff development, mentoring, and overseeing engagement teams.
• Lead engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines, and communicate updates to the engagement principal.
