Job summary

State of IN seeks a State Lead Specialist to support lead exposure investigations and program activities across Indiana. You will assist case managers, manage data entry, and coordinate with local health departments to ensure prompt case handling.

This month-to-month contract requires attention to detail, ability to work with multiple counties, and limited travel. Interview via phone and in-person; transportation and reimbursement are arranged.

Responsibilities

• Support state case managers on non-confirmed cases and track in the state's case management system.

• Investigate reporting issues and invalid entries in IDOH systems like CHIRP, LDF, NBS.
• Participate in quarterly testing report reviews with case managers.
• Monitor case management queues and coordinate document review, approvals, and closures.
• Track fields for confirmed cases and coordinate with staff if data is missing.
• Provide backup support for daily processes including system approvals, fax receipts and lead entry.

Job: State Lead Specialist (810882)

Location: 2 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

client: State of IN

Consultant pay rate: $25 /hr on W2 (All Inclusive)

Interview mode: Phone and in-person

Month to month contract with possibility to convert to state employee. Please confirm the resource understands the duration of the engagement.

Position will require limited travel that will be reimbursed. Please confirm the resource has transportation available to perform this requirement.

Assist the three lead case managers and program manager in investigating, monitoring and supporting families affected by lead exposure throughout the state.

Role Summary: This role focuses on data collection, entry, education, surveillance support and coordination with local health departments and other healthcare agencies. The role completes many of the day-to-day tasks required in order to ensure local health departments can actively manage cases of lead poisoned children throughout the state.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support state case managers on non-confirmed cases. Track these cases in the state's case management system ensuring local health departments are opening, updating, and closing cases as appropriate
2. Audit non-confirmed cases and make suggestions to follow-up on, or close, cases as appropriate
3. Enter and monitor lead results that are reported to the State
4. Investigate reporting issues, invalid results, questionable entries into IDOH systems including CHIRP, LDF, NBS, etc.
5. Participate in quarterly testing report reviews with case managers to identify any trends or issues that they need to address
6. Monitor and address tasks related to case management queues (including document review, approval, and closure)
7. Track required fields for confirmed cases (i.e. case status, home visit, nutritional & developmental assessment, risk assessments) and coordinate with staff if missing or incomplete.
8. Assist, as needed, with providing backup support on required daily processes including system approvals, fax receipt and lead result entry.

• Working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations relating to lead (heavy metal) and healthy homes (specifically 410 IAC 29) Desired
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, webinar/conference call technology Required
• Able to effectively communicate in an oral and written format to professionals and non-professionals Required

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to track progress on cases in several dozen counties concurrently Required.
