Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a mid-level maintenance employee responsible for a variety of semi-skilled tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering and mechanical repair in state facilities. The role may involve supervising offender workers and requires flexibility to work across trades.

Candidates should have two years of related experience or a relevant technical credential; excellent safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with two or more years of experience relevant/similar to the listed job functions or completion of a relevant technical training program or job certificate.

Responsibilities

• Paint building surfaces and equipment.
• Patch plastering walls and carpentry work on furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors.
• Plumbing tasks such as unstopping toilets and drains; replacing faucets/valves.
• Repair water line leaks; replace light bulbs/outlets/switches.
• Oversee offender workers engaged in maintenance tasks and follow supervisor directions.
