Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a mid-level maintenance worker to perform alteration, maintenance, and repair across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades. The role may involve supervising offender workers and reporting to a supervisor.

The position requires hands-on trade experience, ability to operate grounds equipment, and readiness to work in varying weather conditions; training and on-the-job instruction are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
• Ability to operate tractors, mowers, skid steer and other grounds equipment.
• Ability to obtain required licenses/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance across multiple trades.
• Paint surfaces and repair plaster; carpentry work on furniture, doors, windows, shelves and floors.
• Repair plumbing fittings, water lines and electrical components as needed.
