Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Maintenance Coordinator in Construction & Maintenance to supervise staff and contractors, oversee budgets, and coordinate building repair and renovation projects across state properties.

You will inspect facilities, prepare cost estimates, review bids, and direct heavy equipment operations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and codes. On-site work is required with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Six years of experience in skilled building trade or maintenance work related to construction, maintenance, alteration and/or repair of buildings, grounds and utilities.
  • Three years of supervising employees, inmates, or contractors in one of the listed fields.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience; substituting one year of college or technical training for each year of required non-supervisory experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed; valid Oklahoma driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects buildings, premises, and equipment; determines requirements for maintenance, construction, or renovation projects; estimates costs for labor and materials.
  • Manages supervisory or contracted staff; develops and implements budgets, policies, and procedures; ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Evaluates bids on projects; prepares specifications for equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
  • Plans, supervises, and directs movement and operation of heavy construction equipment; schedules crews and tracks time and attendance.
