Job summary

State Energy Office within the Office of Energy in Baton Rouge seeks a qualified administrator to guide energy policy, technology integration, and planning initiatives. The role supports outreach, education, and interagency collaborations to advance Louisiana's energy future.

The ideal candidate has advanced degrees in science, engineering, or public administration with several years of natural resources or administrative experience. Flexible work hours are noted for this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical, biological, environmental science, engineering, CS, public admin, or business field plus four years of related experience; OR
  • Master's degree in same fields plus three years; OR
  • Doctorate in same fields plus two years.

Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation of HOMES and HEEHR programs from award through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary Office of Energy contact for day-to-day program implementation.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans, operating procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide regular program updates, briefings, and recommendations to Office of Energy leadership.
  • Ensure program compliance with federal/state laws, guidance, and policies.
  • Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and reimbursements to ensure proper use of funds.
  • Coordinate among various offices, contractors, utilities, and local governments.
