Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks an organized State Central Register Call Center Worker to provide statewide toll‑free phone coverage for reporting alleged child abuse and neglect, and to make high‑level intake decisions.

Under general supervision, you will collect information to diagnose and evaluate reports, complete initial oral and subsequent reports, and help protect the safety of children and youth. This union position offers competitive benefits and pension.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field with relevant experience (1 year).
• Bachelor's degree in social work with 1 year related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related field with 2 years related experience and accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as State Central Register Call Center Worker.
• Provide crisis counseling or referrals; know statewide resources.
• Enter information into the computer terminal for reports.
• Monitor incoming written reports for CPS units.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
