Job summary

Delaware Office of Auditor of Accounts is seeking a State Auditor I to perform professional auditing work across financial and performance engagements. You will assist with audits, examinations, and procedures related to state entities, with emphasis on internal controls, compliance, and reporting.

The role supports the mission to deter fraud, waste, and abuse, ensuring statutory compliance and improving government operations.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in narrative report writing.
• Six months experience in conducting interviews to obtain facts, gather evidence, and identify courses of action.
• Six months’ experience in conducting audits in accordance with professional auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Documents, tests, reviews and evaluates management controls and operating procedures.
• Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and reports upon management controls and operating procedures as a part of audits and investigations.
• Researches applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards for engagements and special projects.
• Prepares work papers, analysis summaries, findings/recommendations, correspondence, and engagement reports.
• Evaluates the overall accuracy and sufficiency of management controls and operating procedures as they pertain to the scope of engagements.
